DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY

Iván Cortázar was born in Bilbao, Spain. A Business Administration graduate from Sarriko University, Spain, Cortázar worked as an accountant for several years. After that, he moved to New York City where he received an MFA in Photography Video and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts (SVA). He has also received a certificate in filmmaking by NYU - SCPS with honors.

Iván Cortázar has worked as director, cinematographer and editor in several short films and his video piece “Encantamento” is 2nd prize in the international juried show Ingenio 400 organized by the Spanish Minister of Culture. His short film shot entirely on HDV has participated in numerous international film festivals and achieved awards.

His photographs and videos have been internationally exhibited and he is currently represented by the Xanon Art Gallery, Bilbao, Spain.
